Cell Phones and Privacy
Prepaid cell phones certainly have legitimate uses such as travelers from foreign countries, people with low income, or even people who don't need many minutes. However way too many people have been taking advantage of the whole no contract/ no trace aspect of these phones. I don't think government should ending prepaid phone services but rather required by law to register their prepaid cell phones so they could be tracked if need be. Prepaid cell phones are a good idea, but there is too much privacy, people need to be held responsible.

I agree with your post. I did not even consider the fact that international travelers use this as a way to communicate when in another country. I also do not think they should ban the services, rather just regulate them better.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your post to a certain extent but i deffinitly agree with having certain people register with government to get a pre paid phone. However if you dont make everyone register why doesnt a criminal just use fake identification on order to get a phone that cant be tracked?
ReplyDeleteI would have to disagree with you they shouldn't have to be tracked because you are entitled to your own privacy and if you make a purchase like that hopefully you arent out there to commit a crime but just to have a phone to use.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I think that people with low income rely on these types of phones. In todays day and age, a cell phone is a life line. You are in trouble if you have no means of communication. I think some sort of registration process should be put in order but they can't be banned because they are very useful
